Day 17 and 18

A Weekend of Fostering in Fareham

Updated at 04:52pm, 4th November 2014

Our bright green car continued its tour of the South this weekend as we brought our tent of treats to Fareham.

On Saturday, our team stopped off at Fareham’s farmers’ market to chat to the people of Hampshire about fostering. But they didn’t put all their eggs in one basket! On Sunday, they parked up at the town’s ASDA supermarket to continue to spread the word.

Our team handed out hundreds of leaflets and branded jigsaw puzzles over the weekend. And we had some great feedback from shoppers, with one visitor saying, “I didn’t expect to see a foster agency here. What a great idea, as it reaches out to so many different people. We’ve been considering fostering for a while; we come to ASDA to do our weekly shop and here you are! I call that fate.”

“I didn’t know where to start with the process,” said another shopper. “It’s something I have talked about for too many years without doing anything about it. By being here, you have helped me understand the process and what I need to do next.”

Our team will be touring Dorset this week, stopping off in Poole tomorrow and Bournemouth on Thursday and Friday. To find out more about where we’ll be when, check out our events calendar.
