North East Celebrate Young People’s Achievements

Celebration event 4 CMSThe paint’s barely dry on our Newcastle office but it’s already started to host some fantastic carer events!

Our North East team held an activity at the new office last week to celebrate the achievements of looked after and birth children. Foster carers were able to nominate young people for awards to recognise their success in a range of areas including success in exams, making the transition to becoming a foster family and learning how to ride a two wheeler bike!

There was a real sense of pride among the 30 young people and foster carers who attended the event, and the children were thrilled to receive party bags, certificates and vouchers.

As part of the event, all of the children painted their handprints on a large canvas board which will take pride of place in the new office and serve as a colourful memory of the day.

Face painting was also a big hit for the young people and the lunch served was a party buffet theme.

Celebration event 3Feedback from the carers has been very positive with one carer saying: “We thoroughly enjoyed Saturday morning and would like to say a big thank you to all those involved in creating a very enjoyable celebration.”

Jodie Fletcher-Murray, Partnership Development Manager in the North East, also commented on the day. She said:

“It’s events like these that constantly remind us why we do what we do. The colourful Esh Plaza office was an excellent venue and it was lovely to see all the young people engaging in the activities on offer.”
