Our team visited the beautiful seaside town of Brighton yesterday to raise awareness of the shortage of foster carers in the local area.
They parked up outside ASDA and chatted to shoppers about some of the biggest fostering myths, including the misconception that same sex couples can’t foster.
“You have dispelled many myths about who can and can’t be a foster carer,” said one visitor. “We’re a same sex couple and would love to foster. The information you’ve given us is really helpful.”
We took local residents on a trip down memory lane with our tent full of retro toys and treats from the last few decades. “The Lego reminds me of when I was in foster care as it was the first present my carers ever bought me,” said another shopper. “You’re doing a wonderful job, well done.”
Thinking about fostering in the South? Our tour isn’t over yet! Join us for our final information event tomorrow. We’ll be at the Brighton Christmas Gift Fair Spectacular from 10am to 5pm.
