Our Magical Memories Tour is well underway and our team visited ASDA in Eastleigh this Tuesday to spread the word about fostering with the people of Hampshire.
Setting up at a supermarket gave us the chance to chat to shoppers as they filled their trolleys. “What a good idea to visit a supermarket during half-term as there are so many people off work and with their families,” one visitor told us.
The day was a great opportunity to dispel some of the most popular myths about fostering, with some visitors telling us they didn’t even know that independent fostering agencies existed. “I wasn’t aware of FCA until now, as all I had heard of was the local authority,” said one visitor. “I now know there are other options to look into.”
Another shopper said, “We thought that being Indian would present a cultural problem. Thank you for sharing that it isn’t the case. I would highly recommend anyone who has a spare room and wants to foster for the right reason to consider it, as it does make a difference to a child’s life.”
Fancy stopping off to speak to our team? We’ll be visiting Southampton, Fareham, Poole and Bournemouth over the next week. To see where we’ll be when, check out our events calendar.
