A Slice of the Action for Foster Families

Archived: Posted August 12, 2015

Our London and Kent team have enjoyed a fun-packed calendar of family events this summer – and their most recent day out was a real blockbuster!

A group of foster carers, children and support workers visited the big screen to see not one, but two family films during a recent movie and pizza day.

resized-ppc-ssThe first event, held at the Eureka Leisure Park in Ashford, gave cinema-goers a chance to enjoy Disney Pixar’s latest release Inside Out. Maria Gabriels, FCA Support Worker, said: “Many of our carers commented that it was the perfect choice of movie because it shows the different emotions that adults and children go through.”

The second event saw another group visit the O2 in London to watch Jurassic World. A number of carers and children left the screen saying how scary the movie was, so it was a good job there weren’t any small children in the group!

After both movies, the groups tucked into a meal chosen by the children – and it was no surprise to see pizza and ice cream on the menu!

The day was a huge success, with positive feedback from both carers and children on how much they enjoyed the opportunity to spend quality time together.

At Foster Care Associates (FCA), our support workers organise a host of summer activities to give foster carers, their families and the children they care for the chance to get to know one another and make the most of the holidays. It’s just part of our brilliant support package.
