International Cat Day
Today is International Cat Day, at FCA fostering when you have pets it isn’t a problem. In fact pets can help children to settle into their new home. As part of the assessment process, we will complete a pet questionnaire to help determine that your pet is safe to be around foster children.
But did you know cats can be a real benefit and bring so much to a child’s life. Not only by offering companionship but also helping to teach children important life lessons, for example, practice good social skills and have a sense of responsibility. Cats can also be a source of happiness during difficult times. Their purr is therapeutic and stroking a cat is known to help reduce stress levels.
Cats too are part of the fostering family and many families can’t image life without them.
