World Art Day 2026: A Garden of Expression

Our FCA Thames Valley Team celebrated World Art Day 2026 with a vibrant “Garden of Expression” competition, showcasing the incredible creativity, confidence, and community spirit of our young people through inspiring garden-themed artwork.

A Showcase of Creativity

This year, our FCA Thames Valley Team celebrated World Art Day with a creative and inspiring competition based on the theme: “A Garden of Expression: Cultivating Community through Art.”

We invited our young people to take part by painting, drawing, taking photos, or creating their own garden-themed artwork and they certainly did not disappoint! We were absolutely blown away by the creativity, imagination, and effort shown in every single entry. From colourful drawings and detailed paintings to imaginative crafts and real-life garden creations, each piece reflected something truly special.

The competition beautifully highlighted how art can help young people express themselves, build confidence, and connect with others. It was wonderful to see such a wide variety of interpretations of what a “garden of expression” means.

Congratulations to Our Winners

A huge congratulations to Emily and Lexie, our overall winners!

Their entry stood out for its creativity, care, and ambition, they didn’t just create a piece of art, they created a whole garden space. Their work truly brought the theme to life and showed incredible imagination and teamwork.

We are so proud of what they achieved, a very well-deserved win!

We would also like to give a special mention to our fantastic runners-up, Nikita and Casey.

Their entries were incredibly strong, creative, and thoughtful, making it very difficult to choose a winner. As a result, they will also be receiving a special prize in recognition of their amazing efforts.

A big thank you to everyone who took part. Your creativity helped bring this year’s theme to life and showed the power of art in building community, confidence, and self-expression.

We love seeing our young people explore their talents and share their ideas and this competition was a perfect example of that.
