A Fantastic Summer Event
Foster families from across our Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regions came together for a fun-filled summer day at Mansfield FC, enjoying activities, food and time together as a fostering community.
The weather was just right; after the recent heatwaves, we had a warm, dry day, meaning all our families were able to enjoy an activity packed day, both outdoors and indoors.

Fun for Everyone
Outdoor activities included an inflatable play centre for the toddlers, larger inflatable bouncy castle for the older children, climbing wall, football activities and races too!
Indoors there was an air hockey table, dance machine, craft/arts and tattoo station.
There was also a dedicated quiet and sensory area, with cushions and throws available for anyone who wanted to take a break from the excitement and enjoy some calmer time.
After exerting so much energy, a lunch of pizza and potato wedges went down a treat (with old and young alike!) followed by ice-cream and ice lollies, provided by an on-site ice-cream van, which was extremely popular with everyone!
Here are some of the comments received during the day –
“Our young person has made lots of friends and really enjoyed it”.
“The climbing wall was brilliant”.
Bringing our Fostering Community Together
We had a fantastic turn out for this event, from across the regions, and we got to see a lot of happy faces – children and foster parents too.
Events like these are such a wonderful opportunity for our foster parents and children to meet with others who understand fostering, enjoy time together and build life-long friendships.
As well as creating plenty of memories, our wonderful foster families also helped raise £71 for Cancer Research UK through the tombola. A huge thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make the day such a success!
