Welcome to Foster Care Associates Thames Valley

Fostering with FCA Thames Valley means joining a trusted, Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ agency where care, quality, and lasting relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Covering Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, and Bedfordshire, we are urgently seeking foster parents across the region to provide safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children and young people who are unable to live with their birth families.

Whether you are exploring fostering for the first time or bringing previous experience, you will be supported by our dedicated team, who work with 26 Local Authorities to match children carefully with the right foster families. This strong focus on quality matching helps create positive, successful fostering relationships, with over a quarter of young people remaining in long-term placements through to adulthood and independence.

At FCA Thames Valley, we put care first. Our experienced and diverse team is committed to improving outcomes and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive in a secure and supportive home.

We are renowned for our family activities and fostering families are offered a range of activities and events to attend. There is always something exciting to look forward to, we regularly organise events and support groups for our foster parents their families and children and the children they look after.

During school holidays, fostering families are invited to attend local activities so all family members are able to engage in a fun activity and meet existing fostering families and young people.

Together with local events, we also hold regional events such as day trips to London, theme park days and annual events such as Christmas parties.

As well as dedicated activities for our children and young people we also hold regular competitions and there is a monthly children’s newsletter. You are required to have a spare bedroom that’s always available to a foster child. The spare room cannot be shared, and must be big enough to fit a single bed, a wardrobe and a chest of drawers.

To be approved as a foster carer in the UK, you must be a British citizen or have the legal right to remain in the UK without restrictions that would prevent fostering.

The following questions are intended to help us understand your experience with children. Please note that prior experience is not required to become a foster carer, as full training will be provided.
