FCA South Western - Trash Trail Somerset

We have all seen the tragic images on the news and media outlets of the impacts of climate change, and for some, there is a feeling of helplessness.

In July 2023, Somerset hosted one of the largest social events in the UK to promote greener living. For six weeks, the towns and green spaces of the county became homes to our Litterbugs - inspiring sculptures crafted from recycled materials by local artists!.

This ambitious project engaged people by inviting them to have “a rubbish day out”, the strapline for the trail. Children and families joined a trail of strategically located sculptures that encouraged conversation around the impact we all have on our planet.

Some of the amazing sculptures that were seen on the trail ranged from an elephant, hippo, ladybug and a parrot.

The environment is very important to us here at FCA South Western and we sponsored one of the bugs to raise money for this deserving charity. We sponsored Ruffles the parrot.
