Fostering in Cymru North

During the course of 2016, FCA in Cymru North had over 350 referrals from Local Authorities for children and young people who desperately needed a home. These kids depend on foster carers to provide a safe, stable and caring home during a time in need. With this increasing every year, we urge anyone considering becoming a foster carer to get in touch with us today.

About our fostering team

We are FCA Cymru North so a big welcome from the Welsh Coast
A friendly bunch we are, family like, a great Team which we do boast
A smaller region compared to some but this does not mean a thing
We are from Wales, you know the score, we positively sing

Placements here for us are mixed, no young person is overlooked
Care drives FCA and is at the heart when the initial visit may be booked
Our foster carers are a talented bunch with skills and empathy galore
The Local Authority call comes in and so therefore there are no options we cannot explore

Matching is the key to our search, there are important variables to go through bit by bit
The referral is our starting point, coffee and highlighter pens are also essential pieces of kit
Once we find a match, a call is made, conversations are had at great length
Often these can talks can be difficult, however transparency has to be our strength

Parent & Child, Disability, Complex – our region have the expertise to support all of these requests
Our carers don’t get phased easily, just want to help and this is why we have such huge success
Making memories is also key to us, relationships with carers and children is a close important one
And without such strong Team dynamics our work would be less rewarding and less fun

So Abergele is where we are mainly based, with a backdrop of both mountains and the sea
Pop in and have a chat with us about what we do, we love to chat and make a mean cup of tea
The children in our care are living proof that what we do, we do with empathy and a hope to guide
And this is ultimately why at Cymru North (Big Sing off winners 2016) – when we sing WE SING WITH PRIDE !!!!!
