Summer Fun at North East Jamboree

Archived: Posted July 24, 2013

The sun shone on Durham last week as our Chester-le-Street office hosted their annual summer Jamboree.

With the heatwave in full swing, foster carers and staff turned up in their droves for a fun day with their local team. From buying cakes and books to having their nails painted and having a dip in the tombola, there were plenty of activities on offer – including a sing-along with a resident band!

The summer theme continued into lunch as the team feasted on a Mexican themed lunch of tacos, pulled pork and vegetarian chilli.

Local foster carer Ira Collins organised the event. She says “the Jamboree was a fabulous day and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Thank you to all the carers and staff that helped make it such a success.”

The team raised an impressive £145 for Breast Cancer Research UK, which was doubled by Core Assets to a whopping £290. A big thank you to everyone who attended on the day – and well done to the Chester-Le-Street team!
