Start your journey to fostering at this year’s Lincolnshire Show

Archived: Posted June 17, 2015

If you’re visiting this year’s Lincolnshire Show on 24th and 25th June, be sure to step on board our big pink double decker bus!

As part of our ‘30K foster care challenge’, the fostering bus will be taking in the annual county show to encourage more people in Lincolnshire to become foster carers, and we reckon our alternative form of transport is sure to get people talking!

Get on board the foster care bus

Tim Clayton, registered manager for Foster Care Associates in Lincolnshire, said: “There is currently a shortage of foster carers across the Lincolnshire region, and we’re hoping that taking our big pink bus ‘on tour’ will get people talking about fostering, and potentially interested about becoming a carer themselves.”

It is estimated that in our Eastern region, a total of 640 new foster families are needed in 2015, with 8,370 needed in total across the UK.

Talking about our brightly-coloured bus, Tim continued: “In colour psychology pink is the sign of hope, representing compassion and unconditional love as well as being associated with giving and receiving care – all qualities associated with being a foster carer.”

Fun activities for children will be available on board the bus, as well as information and advice offered to anyone who’s interested in fostering.
