South West drums up support for International Foster Carer Appreciation Day

Staff and carers in the south west marked International Foster Carer Appreciation Day with a steel drum lesson in the middle of the Devon Countryside!

On a very chilly and frosty morning we were escorted into a giant tipi where we were greeted with hot tea and coffee accompanied by delicious homemade biscuits. Everyone was surprised by how quickly we picked up the drumming and before we knew it we were performing a tune in unison!

After the steel drumming it was time for some lunch, and we all enjoyed a homemade chilli with all the trimmings in the warmth of the woodland café.

Carers were then given a goody bag to take home with them which included bath soak, face masks, chocolates, a key ring and an FCA T-shirt. A most of us even managed to have a sneaky tour around all the yurts on site.

A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all and it was wonderful to treat our carers and say thank you for all that they do.
