Kind-hearted foster carers raise £150 for Zoe’s Place, Middlesbrough
Archived: Posted January 13, 2016Kind-hearted foster carers from Middlesborough who decided to forgo their annual Christmas gifts, choosing instead to give to local charities, have donated £150 to Zoë’s Place in Middlesbrough.
Foster carer Linda Humphreys presented the cheque to Elaine Dunning, corporate fundraiser at Zoë’s Place, at the charity’s Middlesbrough hospice. Zoe’s Place provides palliative and respite care for babies and infants from birth to five years old, who have life limiting or life shortening conditions.
Linda Humphreys said: “It is heart-warming to know that there is a service available should anyone sadly need to use them. The hospice feels warm and welcoming, and this is very clearly testament to the people and staff that manage it. It was lovely to be able to give such a donation and know where the funds will be used and what services it will provide.”

Elaine Dunning, corporate fundraiser at Zoë’s Place, said: “We rely on the generosity of the public to help us raise the £1.2 million a year we need to keep the Middlesbrough hospice’s doors open for the many families that rely on our expert care. I’d like to thank FCA’s foster carers who chose to give up their annual Christmas gift and instead donate the money to Zoë’s Place to help us provide our specialist facilities for children with life limiting or threatening conditions.”
