Foster care fact finding event – Conwy

Archived: Posted June 17, 2015

logo-with-textPeople interested in becoming foster carers in Conwy are invited to find out more about how they can help children and young people in need of a foster family at an information event in Abergele on Wednesday 15th July.

Our Cymru North team will be opening the doors of our regional office on the North Wales Business Park (LL22 8LJ) between 10am and 4pm, where potential foster carers can find out first-hand how to get involved and have their questions answered by our experienced fostering team.

Sandra Jones, registered manager for FCA Cymru North, said: “There is an urgent need for more foster carers throughout Conwy. We are actively looking for responsible, nurturing adults who have a spare room and can give children in need of a foster home the support they need to thrive and grow.

“There are many factors that make up an ideal foster carer – everything from being adaptable, resilient and nurturing to being a good listener and flexible in response to a young person’s needs.

“This is one of a number of events we hold regularly to provide more information to people interested in taking the first step into providing foster care. In addition to finding out about the extensive support we provide to our foster carers, they will be able to chat to some of our experienced FCA support team, who will be able to answer any questions they may have.

“Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. We have some amazing people caring for children and young people in Conwy, and our Abergele office ensures those local to the area benefit from the support we have to offer whenever they need it.”

Anyone interested in attending the event can simply just drop in on the day. Alternatively call 0800 023 4561 to speak to a member of the team about becoming a foster carer in Wales.
