Find out about foster care in Bristol

Archived: Posted November 12, 2015

If you are interested in finding out about becoming a foster carer, then come along to our drop-in information event at our Bristol office on Eden Office Park, 64 Macrae Road, Ham Green on Tuesday 24 November between 4pm and 8pm.

Potential foster carers can find out first-hand from FCA carers and experienced social workers how to get involved and help dozens of children and young people in Bristol who are in need of a foster family.

Claire Jones, from our Western England team, said: “We urgently need more foster carers in Bristol. We are looking for responsible, nurturing adults who have a spare room and can give children and young people in need of a foster home the support they need to thrive and grow.

Care is... finding room to foster

“We’d really like to hear from people who’d be interested in taking on some of our more challenging placements. This could be young people with behavioural problems, or teenage mothers who want to be fostered with their own child.”

At the drop-in event, you’ll be able to find out about how to take the first step into providing foster care, as well as about the extensive support that we provide to all of our foster carers. You’ll also be able to chat to some of our current foster carers, as well as our support team, who’ll be able to answer any questions you may have.

Claire continues: “Fostering is an incredibly rewarding experience. We have some amazing people caring for children and young people in Bristol, and our local office in Ham Green ensures that our foster carers in the area benefit from the support we have to offer whenever they need it.”
