FCA Western foster carer recovering from numerous illnesses fundraises against all odds

Archived: Posted September 1, 2016

A Frome lady recovering from breast cancer and battling multiple sclerosis is to take a giant leap and plummet at 50mph from a 65ft cliff edge on a zip wire.

Veronica Pearson, 53, was diagnosed with non-progressive remitting multiple sclerosis in 1992 when her two children were small.  In March 2015 she was diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine mammogram which had been a real shock to the family as they had not long taken on a new foster placement for FCA Western!

After going through the treatment involved and following the life changing illnesses Veronica has been given the motivation and enthusiasm to take on new challenges and so this year, her first year recovering from breast cancer, she was inspired to take up the zip wire challenge in the hope of raising money for Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Veronica’s inspirational story was covered on Somerset Live where the full details of how she recovered enough to help fund raise for the charity.

If you would like to contribute towards the fundraising efforts please visit her Just Giving page to help her achieve her goal.
