Caring agency sponsors young football club

Core Assets Fostering NWCore Assets Fostering North West has given a much needed £1000 sponsorship grant to local Blackpool FC Rangers under 7’s team, providing them with a new strip as well as the funds needed to train on an all-weather pitch during the winter months.

Open to local boys and girls under 7, the FC Rangers are coached by Tom Adams, 17, and young carer Robert Cousins, 17, whose parents, Elizabeth and David, from Blackpool, foster with Core Assets Fostering.

“Without the sponsorship from Core Assets Fostering, we wouldn’t have been able to set up the under 7’s team,” explained Robert.

“Having the funds to play on an all-weather pitch means the kids never have to miss a session, and the new kits make them feel part of a proper team.”

Core Assets Fostering is committed to supporting children in care, birth children of foster carers and youngsters in the community by getting behind local projects that instil pride within a community and offer children a chance to succeed.

Investing in the local community

Robert said: “Fostering is really rewarding and has definitely been a positive experience for me. I feel really valued by Core Assets Fostering and I’m really glad that they take community projects, like the football club, as seriously as I do.”

Mark Taylor, fostering service manager for the North West region commented on the new partnership with the FC Rangers.

“We’re thrilled to sponsor the under 7’s group because we’re passionate about supporting activities that promote team work, inclusivity and a healthy lifestyle for children. We also value the hard work and important role played by birth children, like Robert, and want to support their ambitions too.”
