Meet Collette from Gainsborough who with husband Neil have just completed their first year of fostering with FCA Yorks and Lincs

first year foster carer with FCA Yorks and Lincs

“Neil and I considered fostering years ago but at the time felt our children were too young.  I’ve been a nurse for 37 years so when I retired it seemed the perfect time to pursue fostering.  In fact, it was a patient at the surgery who told me all about FCA and said to contact them.  Our first 12 months of fostering have been great and really positive.  Our supervising social worker is so supportive as are all the staff at the FCA Yorks and Lincs office.    We have two children living with us who have settled in really well and now are thriving.  It was difficult at first to put boundaries in place and for the children to settle into a family routine. But over the last few months, both children have really grown and developed, it’s lovely to see their accomplishments.”
