Icing. Lots of sprinkles. And a big helping of hope for people affected by dementia
Dementia is the number one cause of death in England and Wales. It doesn’t discriminate and currently there’s no cure. With your help, we aim to change this.
Last year, dedicated Cupcakers around the country united to raise a mighty £330,000 against dementia. That’s more than enough to fund 11 PhD researchers for a year, giving them the opportunity to undertake vital, potentially lifesaving work.
By joining together for Cupcake Day 2017, we’ll not only be helping to create a better world for people affected by dementia today, but also to find a cure for tomorrow.
We will be holding a coffee and cupcake day at Cymru North on Thursday 15th June to help raise even more this year.
As figures stand there are approximately 860,000 people living with dementia in the UK today, so it’s likely every single one of us has a friend or family member who has been diagnosed with this disease. Please join us in our fund raising quest and come along to the FCA Cymru Office, you are very welcome (with or without cakes) as staff will be busy baking (or shopping) J so there will be plenty to go round!
We will be starting at 11am until around 1pm, please just turn up on the day…. And for any of you who would like to know more about fostering there will be staff and foster carers on hand to answer any questions you have.
Many thanks and we look forward to seeing you all.
