Birmingham recruitment event to encourage people to find room in their lives to foster
Archived: Posted October 29, 2015We will be holding a recruitment event in Victoria Square, Birmingham on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th November on board a big pink double decker bus!
The event is part of our campaign called ‘Finding Room to Foster’ which draws on the moments when our foster carers found that unique time in their life to make the important decision to foster – making room in their lives, both emotionally and physically, to care for a young person in need.
The team from FCA in the Midlands will be showing just how little physical space is needed by building a mock bedroom – including bed, wardrobe and draws – to encourage those with a spare bedroom to think about becoming a foster carer.
Helen Wood, marketing coordinator for FCA Midlands, said: “We’ve been working with children and young people for 21 years and our experience shows that one-to-one support within a caring family is the best way to help children and young people overcome their issues and deal with their past.
“We have some fabulous foster carers in Birmingham and the Midlands, but we urgently need more. We hope our ‘Finding Room to Foster’ event will encourage more people in the region to make room in their life and seriously consider becoming a foster carer and the rewards it can offer.”
Look out for our big pink double decker bus in Victoria Square where our experienced FCA staff and carers will be on hand to answer any questions.
