Going into foster care can be hard to adjust to. But imagine having to go it alone without your brothers and sisters around you.
Wherever we can, we try to keep sibling groups together when they go into foster care. We find that children are much more likely to settle and begin progressing well if they are kept with their brothers and sisters, especially if they have a close emotional bond. The fact that they can share the experience and support each other helps to keep these important relationships alive.
Sibling placements can bring its own complexities, as well as being very rewarding, so we offer all of our foster carers who take on sibling groups specialist training, so that they can support them to their best of their abilities.
If you have the space and time to give young brothers and sisters a stable family home together, please get in touch with us.
