Fostering in Aberdare

The office in Aberdare is one of three located in South Wales and one of 80 within the UK, making FCA the largest Independent Fostering Agency in the country. The office in Aberdare also serves as the local office for fostering in Merthyr Tydfil.
The services we offer in South Wales
If you choose to become a foster carer in South Wales you will have access to a wealth of support and guidance in the form of a team of skilled childcare experts including:

- Therapists
- Education Officers
- Children and Young Person’s Support Service (CYPSS) workers
This team is available on a regular basis to work through any issues relating to fostering and childcare. The approach is known as Team Parenting®. Our aim is to help foster carers who can then be more effective in their day to day role to care for and improve the lives of looked after children, encouraging positive outcomes.

At FCA we have developed many different ways of offering support to foster carers and the children and young people they look after; through activities organised by FCA, events and on-going local training too. We also hold regular carer group meetings, offer paid respite and a highly competitive fostering allowance.
