FCA Scotland’s Fostering and Recruitment Team attended this years ‘Pride Scotia’ celebrations in Edinburgh on Saturday 26th June, celebrating Scotland’s Diversity and taking the opportunity to promote foster carer recruitment within the LGBT community.
FCA Scotland asked the LGBT community in Edinburgh to ‘take pride’ and make a difference to a young person’s life by considering becoming foster carers. With recent change of legislation in Scotland, same sex couples are now able to foster, and so FCA Scotland is attending LGBT events this year in order to attract new carers.
The days events included a very vibrant and colourful procession through the Scottish capital, with an assortment of entertainments for all and a Community Health Fair where FCA Scotland was present with an information stand.
FCA Scotland’s Fostering Advisor Niki Donnelly and Marketing Manager Ewan McGill were joined on the day by Equality and Diversity Coordinator Stuart Bray and Executive Director Estella Abraham.
