Consider fostering in Perth

Welcome to our Fostering in Perth page. If you’re here because you live in and around Perth and are interested in finding out about becoming a foster carer then continue reading to see how fostering with FCA works.

The local office in Perth is one of 80 FCA offices located in the UK, proving that the largest independent Fostering Agency in the country can have a ‘local’ network of offices.

A Team Parenting® approach

If you become a foster carer with FCA you will have access to the various support services that we provide including those that contribute to the Team Parenting® approach.

Based at each local office is a team of professionals who work closely with foster carers and the children they look after to offer support and advice with the aim of improving the lives of looked after young people who are unable to live with their birth family.

Each Team Parenting® team is made up of the following experts:

• An assigned FCA social worker
• A therapist
• An education officer
• A Children and Young Person’s Support Service (CYPSS) worker

What next?

Support for foster carers doesn’t stop there; with a range of FCA activities and events to attend as well as our on-going training programme and the regular group meetings for carers there are a number of ways to provide help and guidance to carers and the children and young people they look after.

Visit the website to read more about who can become a carer, the types of placements we offer in Scotland as well as our competitive fees and paid respite.
