Welcome to our page on fostering in Glasgow. If you’ve been considering changing career and becoming a foster carer in Scotland then this is a great place to start.

Supporting our carer’s in Scotland

Because our aim is to encourage positive outcomes for looked after children and young people we have a strong network of support in place to help us work towards achieving this goal.

One particular service we offer at FCA is known as the Team Parenting^® approach. This consists of a team of professionals who work closely together to provide help and support to foster carers in the local area. The team, a small group of childcare experts who work out of the local office are in regular contact with foster carers, giving guidance and advice on all fostering issues.

If you become a foster carer with FCA in Glasgow you will have access to the Team Parenting^® team which consists of:

• A social worker assigned by FCA
• A Children and Young Person’s Service Support (CYPSS) worker
• A therapist
• An education officer

Our services

As well as the team described above, there are many other ways that we provide our foster carers with the kind of support they need on a day-to-day basis; through our continual local training and regular carer group meetings we can build on the knowledge our carers need for fostering as well as help them work through issues arising in this tough but rewarding role.

We offer paid respite and competitive fees to our foster carers, enhancing their fostering career with our support services.
