Becoming a foster carer is a career change that many people consider and one which comes with many rewards as well as challenges along the way. It takes a special kind of person to be able to provide a safe and stable family environment for a vulnerable young person or child to come into.
FCA fostering services in Fife
The FCA office in Perth serves the immediate regions of Tayside and Fife including the towns closest to it when it comes to fostering. The local office is one of 80 dotted around the whole of the UK, creating a very ‘local’ feel to the FCA fostering network.
If you decide to foster with FCA in Fife you will be entitled to the services we offer in this region including one called Team Parenting® which is basically a small team of childcare experts who are available on a regular basis to offer a wrap-around approach to fostering that includes giving help, guidance and support to foster carers and the children they look after, dependant upon the needs of both. The team is made up of the following professionals:
• An assigned FCA social worker
• Therapist
• Children and Young Person’s Support Service (CYPSS) worker
• Education officer
