Welcome to our Fostering in Dundee page. You may have been thinking about fostering for some time and have now decided that you want to do something about it. If so, read on to learn more about fostering with FCA and how we work.

With a total of 80 offices located around the UK, FCA is now the largest Independent Fostering Agency in the country. The office in Perth in Scotland serves as the main office for the area as well as for fostering in and around Angus.

Team Parenting^® in Scotland

We have a range of services that are available to foster carers in Scotland, one of which is known as Team Parenting^®. This is a proven FCA approach to fostering which involves the expertise of a group of childcare professionals such as;

• A social worker assigned by FCA to each foster carer
• A Children and Young Person’s Support Service (CYPSS) worker
• A therapist
• An education officer

The team is based at the local office and are available for regular meetings and contact with the foster carer and the young people and children they look after. They offer support and advice on all kinds of fostering issues with the aim of meeting the needs and enhancing the lives of looked after young people whilst equipping foster carers with the skills and knowledge to enable them to be effective carers.

As well as the Team Parenting^® approach we also provide support services such as regular carer group meetings, local training as well as various events and activities organised by FCA which encourages involvement and a sense of belonging within the community.
