Meet the staff supporting fostering in Scotland
FCA’s unique Team Parenting™ approach to fostering provides our carers with a whole host of Therapists, Social Workers, Children and Young People Support Service workers and Education Officers based in local offices across Scotland. To find out more about some of our staff, visit our Meet the Team tab and find out more about the day to day roles of our FCA Scotland fostering support team.
Morna Stewart from FCA Scotland explains the wide variety of benefits for our Scotland foster carers as a result of FCA’s local support infrastructure:
“Having local teams in FCA Scotland provides more accessible and familiar support to our carers. Within their own area they will get to know other carers and FCA staff so that there is continuity and the potential to build strong professional relationships.
“Training events and support groups are provided locally to maximise the benefits of these local teams. The key supervisory relationship between our carers and senior Supervising Social Workers also benefits from this integrated way of working.”
