How to foster in Plymouth

Our office in Plymouth is the regional office for the South West area and provides a full range of support services for the surrounding areas including Tavistock, Newton Abbott and Saltash.
We have 80 offices based locally across the UK which are managed by FCA, the largest Independent Fostering Agency in the country.
Working towards positive outcomes
Positive outcomes for children and young people in care are what we work towards. To achieve this we provide professional support and guidance for all our foster carers in order to equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to help the young people in their care to grow into happy individuals with aspirations for the future.
A number of skilled professionals are based at the local office in Plymouth including;
• FCA assigned social workers
• Therapists
• Education officers
• Children and Young Persons Service Support (CYPPS) workers.
These professionals provide different levels of support depending on the needs of the looked after children and the foster carers through an approach known as Team Parenting®.
The Team Parenting® approach offers support to foster carers and encourages them to get involved in the regular carer support group meetings and the many organised activities, events and local training opportunities that are available. With highly competitive payments and paid respite, fostering with FCA is a fully supported career for someone who is willing to change the outcome of a young person who hasn’t had the best start in life.
