Positive outcomes
At FCA we provide an extremely high level of on-going support for our carers through a range of different services as well as offering competitive fees and paid respite. One of these support services is known as the Team Parenting® approach and gives foster carers complete ‘wrap around’ support through regular access to professionals like;
• An FCA assigned social worker
• Therapist
• Education officer
• Children and Young Persons Support Service (CYPSS) worker
This support network is available via a number of different ways; through a system of locally held on-going training, through many organised events and activities such as the regular support group meetings for carers. The guidance and help provided to foster carers is aimed at supporting them through the challenges of fostering as they look after the children and young people in their care, bringing about better outcomes.
Find out more
Reading real life carer accounts of their fostering experiences is a great way to find out more about what it’s really like to foster. Watch our video interviews with foster carers too, where they talk about their experiences of helping to bring about better outcomes for the children and young people in their care.
Fostering is a demanding role but also a very rewarding one too. Giving a vulnerable child or young person the chance to live in a safe family environment can really make a difference to them as individuals and how they grow within society.
