FCA is always looking to speak with people who are thinking of fostering in the North East. We recruit foster carers to care for many different types of young people and in various locations across the region.
Foster carers needed across the North East
FCA is particularly looking to speak with anyone interested in fostering in Middlesbrough, fostering in Redcar & Cleveland, fostering in Stockton-on-Tees, fostering in Darlington and throughout the Teesside area, which is currently experiencing a shortage of foster carers.
If you are thinking of fostering in Durham, Newcastle and Gateshead or the surrounding areas, we are looking for people who have the patience, skills or experience to care for children and young people with complex behaviours or needs.
Foster care for complex needs and intensive fostering placements
Many of the young people in need of foster care in the North East will have experienced abuse or neglect. All of them will feel the effects of being separated from their birth families.
We need foster carers across the North East region who can provide these children and young people with a safe and stable home.
FCA may ask that some of our foster carers in North East have experience working with children and young people with difficult behaviours, and have no birth children living at home.
More experienced potential carers may be interested in providing intensive fostering for children and young people who have recently left residential care. You can learn more about FCA’s highly structured and individualised support package on our intensive fostering placements pages.
Short break carers needed in Teesside
There is a specific need for carers who are able to provide regular short breaks for disabled children and young people in a number of locations throughout the Teesside area. If you feel you are able to provide this vital role, we would like to speak to you to discuss short break care with FCA.
