How FCA supports foster carers in the North East
Fostering is all about giving vulnerable children and young people the chance to have the best possible outcome, even if they didn’t have a great start in life. With a strong network of childcare experts we provide children and young people and their foster carers with on-going support.
Addressing all needs whether this is through providing the services of an education officer to find the right school for a young person entering care, or through a regular support group for foster carers. Nobody is overlooked.
This is an approach called Team Parenting® and the kind of ‘wrap around’ service it incorporates has been proven to be very beneficial to children in care as well as to the foster carers themselves.
Our Team Parenting® approach also incorporates the skills of a therapist and Children and Young Persons Support Service (CYPSS) worker where required depending on the needs of the foster carers and the children in their care.

There’s so much more to fostering than simply offering a secure home and a family environment to a child or young person who is unable to live with their birth family. The role of a foster carer is not without its challenges but it is also very rewarding and can make a real difference to the lives of those who need it.
