Become a foster carer in Durham

Our FCA office in County Durham serves the local area and also serves as the main office for all enquiries on fostering in Sunderland and fostering in Darlington too. One of around 80 offices in the UK, the warm and friendly atmosphere is welcoming and the staff are always happy to help you.

The services you will receive

If you choose to start fostering in Durham you will automatically be entitled to the following services depending on the needs of the children or young people in your care as well as your needs. You will have the benefit of the knowledge of professionals such as:

An FCA assigned social worker – who will be in regular contact
• A therapist – who will work with both child and carer to achieve progress
An education officer – who can help with any educational requirements
A Children and Young Persons Service Support (CYPSS) worker
