Our relationship with Local Authorities
As an Independent Fostering Agency and approved provider of fostering services, FCA works in partnership with Local Authorities to offer high quality fostering family placements for looked after children and young people.
We enjoy established relationships with Local Authorities throughout the UK.

FCA works in Partnership with 95% of Local Authorities in Wales
FCA works in partnership with all of the Local Authorities in Northern Ireland
Services that FCA offers to Local Authorities
Out of the 2400 children and young people looked after by FCA foster carers, the highest number of placements out of all IFA’s in the UK, many have behavioural problems or disabilities. These children and young people require specialist care in order to give them the best opportunities in life. They can therefore often be ‘difficult to place’.
FCA’s therapeutic support services, delivered through the Team Parenting™ model of fostering, is proven in delivering successful outcomes for children and young people with specialist requirements. Local Authorities purchase FCA’s Team Parenting™ services with a view to achieving some highly positive outcomes in all areas, including educational achievement.
FCA also provides the option of a foundation fostering placement to Local Authorities, according to the specific requirements of the looked after child or young person.
Working together
FCA’s commercial team liaises closely with Local Authorities to build prosperous relationships for the benefit of the looked after children and young people that Local Authorities place with FCA foster carers.
