Established in 1994, Foster Care Associates (FCA) is the UK’s largest Independent Fostering Agency (IFA). FCA remains the only owner-managed IFA out of the top 5 IFA's in the UK (the others are private equity backed). (Meet the Executive Team at FCA). This has enabled the company to retain its local values, while delivering the strength of infrastructure to provide extended support services to more than 2400 placements throughout the UK.

FCA works in partnership with Local Authorities and Health Trusts to provide the highest quality foster care placements for looked after children and young people. We have a network of over 80 local and regional offices across the UK.

FCA’s approach to foster care places the child’s needs and support for foster carers firmly at the centre of its practice. Through our highly acclaimed, holistic model of fostering, Team Parenting™, FCA delivers a wider network of therapeutic support services to foster carers, who are positioned as ‘agents of change’.  Team Parenting™ placements have achieved enviable success in delivering positive outcomes for ‘difficult to place’ looked after children and young people.

International developments

As part of the Core Assets Group of Companies, FCA is a sister company to a number of current and ongoing International developments.

Under the International fostering arm of Core Assets, Fostering First International, the Group is currently represented in 7 different countries: Republic of Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
