FCA North East receives IIC Award

FCA North East receives IIC Award

Leading foster care agency, Foster Care Associates (FCA) North East has gained the Investing In Children (IIC) award, for the fourth year in succession.

To gain this award, FCA North East had to undergo rigorous evaluation including consultation with looked after young people as well as birth children. The IIC organisation is concerned with the human rights of children and young people, ensuring they have a voice and contribute to the services they use.

Sue Waller, assistant director commented “I am delighted that FCA in the North East has again achieved the IIC award. It demonstrates our intention to do what is best for children and young people and that we are continuing to work hard at creating opportunities for children and young people to have a voice in all decisions that affect them. Children and young people are at the heart of IIC and it is their view not just that of the adults involved that, FCA North East is truly investing in children.”

FCA is the UK’s leading independent foster care agency with a network of 80 offices UK-wide. With the current national shortage of foster carers around 5,000*, FCA is continually seeking to attract new carers who believe they have the determination and understanding to take up this challenging yet hugely rewarding career.
