Ellen Roberts (9) wins top prize in a colouring competition

The creative talents of Ellen Roberts (9) from Old Colwyn have won her the top prize in a colouring competition organised by leading foster care agency, Foster Care Associates (FCA) Cymru.

Ellen was among 50 entrants who took part in the FCA competition which was staged at this year’s Urdd Eistfodd. Her winning entry grabbed the attention of the judges with its clever use of colour and spotty design. FCA presented Ellen with her original design together with a case of art materials and equipment.

“I love painting and drawing and the FCA competition was really good fun. I wanted my picture to look bright and happy with lots of different coloured spots,” said Ellen.

FCA’s colouring competition was part of the organisation’s eco-friendly shopping campaign which aimed to promote the use of cotton carrier bags.
