Foster Care Associates (FCA) North East has boosted a local school’s resources by sponsoring a collection of first aid books created by The Children’s Safety Education Foundation.

A presentation took place at Bridgewater School in Newcastle where FCA North East’s director Michael Austin presented the educational resources to teacher Tracey Phillipson. The school welcomed FCA’s contribution and will ensure pupils from different year groups have access to the books.

"These books are useful resources that will be used by the children in an end of term project and we are especially grateful to FCA for their support. The children are interested, enthusiastic, and can't wait to start," said Tracey Phillipson.

FCA director, Michael Austin commented: “Being a child focused agency, FCA places great emphasis on ensuring children’s safety. This sponsored school initiative sits well with FCA in meeting Government agenda, ‘Every Child Matters’. We are pleased to support schools in the community and to provide invaluable tools for the pupils’ continued educational needs.”

FCA is the UK’s leading independent foster care agency with a network of 80 offices UK-wide. With the current national shortage of foster carers around 5,000*, FCA is continually seeking to attract new carers who believe they have the determination and understanding to take up this challenging yet hugely rewarding career.
