Refugee Week 2010 draws focus to FCA Sanctuary Seeking Placements
May 24, 2010
Refugee Week is a UK-wide programme of arts, cultural and educational events that celebrate the contribution of refugees to the UK, and encourages a better understanding between communities.
Refugee Week 2010 takes place from 14 to 20 June 2010.
There are events taking place all over the country, incorporating film, music, drama, debate and community events, providing a great opportunity to learn something about different cultures and connect with others from their country of origin.
There is also a wealth of information available from the Refuge Week 2010 website: www.refugeeweek.org.uk including information about famous refugees, educational and online resources and small steps that can be taken to promote awareness about issues relating to refugees.
Sanctuary Seeking Children
As the UK’s leading Independent Fostering Agency (IFA), FCA performs a vital role in providing fostering placements for Sanctuary Seeking Children – Children and Young people seeking asylum in the UK.
These placements often come at very short notice, for which FCA’s Emergency Placement scheme provides the flexibility and responsiveness to provide a placement.
