Addressing the need for Sanctuary Seeking carers in Croydon
February 16, 2010
FCA London & Kent is launching a campaign to recruit more foster carers in the Croydon area for Sanctuary Seeking placements.
A Sanctuary Seeking placement provides a home for a child or young person who is under 18 years of age, separated from parents/family and applying for asylum.
These young people have often travelled long distances (from countries such as Afghanistan and Iran), may not speak English, and can be frightened and confused.
FCA will provide specific training to all carers to assist with meeting the needs of this group of children or young people, in addition to comprehensive information and the support of a dedicated Supervising Social Worker.
If you think you can help then please contact FCA on 0800 085 2225 or fill in Enquire Online form.
