Education Liaison Service
FCA has a commitment to the right of every young person to receive an appropriate education that will help them to achieve their full potential.
FCA is committed to overcoming the barriers that many 'looked after' children and young people face. The aim of FCA's Education Service is to support all young people, regardless of gender, race and or disability through the multi-disciplinary team parenting approach, to achieve the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters framework.
FCA has Education Liaison Officers (ELOs) whose responsibility is to find appropriate education provision for every child or young person of school age placed via the agency. All ELOs have extensive experience of working in the field of education; many are teachers who have worked with children who present challenging behaviour or have Special Educational Needs. They all have knowledge and understanding of the Code of Practice for Special Educational Needs, Admissions and Exclusions and other educational legislation.
