Summary of the support you will receive
We provide the following support to all our foster carers
- Access to a member of FCA Support Services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Supervision and support from a qualified and suitably experienced FCA Social Worker.
- Frequent visits from your FCA social worker.
- Regular telephone contact from your FCA social worker.
- 21 nights paid respite per year.
- Regular support group meetings.
- Children & Young People Support Workers to work with the children and young people, especially if they are not attending school.
- Organised activities for children and young people.
- An Educational Liaison Officer to support foster carers in negotiating with schools and promoting the child’s and young person’s educational needs.
- A comprehensive post-approval/appointment training programme, including access to NVQ Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People.
- A level of financial support that values your skills as a foster carer.
- Membership of FosterTalk, an independent voluntary benefit scheme aimed at the needs of foster carers. The scheme offers free legal advice, legal expenses insurance, advice on tax and personal finance issues and preferential pricing arrangements on hundreds of lifestyle products and services.
