Rewards at Foster Care Associates

Core Benefits
As an employee of FCA, you are automatically entitled to your core benefits as part of your Terms & Conditions of employment. These represent a selection of certain minimum benefits that you'll receive in addition.
Salary
We use market data and bench-marking with other employers to ensure we offer competitive salary package in the Social Care Market.
Hours
35 hours per week for all posts. 9.00am-5.00pm with one hour (unpaid) for lunch (NB: your actual hours may differ due to the nature of the business, therefore, flexibility and additional time may be required).
Market Premium
FCA London: up to £3k for London Weighting. All other areas of the country: £1k-£3k (at Regional Manager's/Director's discretion)
Pension
Contributory Pension Scheme is in place for all employees after 3 months service. The employer's contribution is 5%. Employee's contribution is voluntary.
Death in Service
In the event of the employee's death, the nominated beneficiary(ies) will receive 2 times the employee's annual salary.
Holiday
25 days leave rising to 28 days after one year's service in the next leave year and 30 days after three year's continuous service in the next leave year, plus bank holidays. Employees are requested to reserve some of their annual leave to accommodate the Company's closure during the Christmas period.
Sick Pay
All employees are entitled to 1 month full pay whilst in their probationary period. Thereafter, it will increase to 3 months full pay.
Private Medical Insurance
All employees are covered by BUPA after 1 year's service with the Company.
Benefit Schemes

Also through FosterTalk, you have access to qualified education advisors, accountants, independent finance advisors and receive a quarterly FosterTalk magazine.
Company Car
A Company Car will be provided for certain posts typically Social Workers, Principal Therapists, Education Liaison Officers, and Support staff from the existing fleet currently available. Entitlement to a Company Car will be dependent upon the job role and where possible, this will be advertised as part of the post’s remuneration package.
Computershare Childcare Vouchers
Computershare Childcare Voucher Scheme (formerly know as Busy Bees) is available to all employees on a 'salary sacrifice' basis. Under the Scheme, parents can take advantage of reduced Tax and National Insurance and make savings when they purchase vouchers to pay for registered childcare for children under age 16.
Family Friendly Benefits
In addition to statutory entitlements for Maternity Leave, Paternity Leave and Adoption Leave, FCA offers enhanced schemes to employees, subject to qualifying levels of service.
Duvet Days
An extra 2 days leave – ‘Duvet Days’ can be accumulated if the employee does not have any sick leave for 12 months.
Other Terms and Conditions of Employment
- Probationary Period: 6 months for all employees.
- Employment Clearance: If appointed, an enhanced police check may be carried out for some posts, along with other clearances. Appointments and start dates will only be confirmed after satisfactory police (if applicable), references and health clearances have been received.
- As an organisation using the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB), the Scottish Disclosure Service and Garda Checks in Ireland to assess applicants’ suitability for positions of trust, The FCA Group complies fully with the CRB/Scottish Disclosure Code of Practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly.
- Notice to Terminate: During the probationary period one month’s notice is required on either side, thereafter contractual requirements apply.

Additional Information
- The Core Assets Group of Companies is unable to consider employment applications from candidates whose immediate family (or those living in the same household) currently provide a fostering service to the Agency (and continue to intend to do so).
- The Core Assets Group of Companies is unable to consider employment applications from carers of the Agency who intend to continue as carers (except in cases with specific exemptions under the Care Standards Act 2000 where transitional provisions apply – refer to HR for further advice).
- The Core Assets Group of Companies is unable to consider employment applications from foster carers who work for another independent fostering agency. However, if the intention is to leave the current agency to join FCA on an exclusive basis, then applications would be accepted.
- The Core Assets Group of Companies will only accept applications from foster carers who work for Local Authorities.
- The Core Assets Group of Companies will only accept applications from family relatives of staff or carers if the role is based at a different agency to that of the employee. Clarity to confirm that the candidate meets these criteria should be assessed at interview.
