Disability in the workplace

Of all the strands of diversity supported within FCA and Core Assets, Robert identifies with disability;

“In 1983 I was involved in a serious road traffic accident when a horse trailer became detached from a car and knocked me down; I was travelling home from work on my moped. I was in Intensive Care for 3 months and in hospital for a total of 10 months. As a result of this accident I have been left with a disability, as my legs were badly damaged.

“I have never experienced negativity about my disability at work, but if I did I know I would be able to speak to the person concerned and I would be comfortable to bring it to the attention of my line manager. Core Assets is full of positive role models, and I truly believe it has taken forward working with the different diversities.”
