Andy Prest
Andy is a Project Co-ordinator based at Core Assets Central Services in Worcestershire. He has been with the company since 2005.
Andy works with our international team to develop new systems to deal with the recording and administrating side of social work. He travels regularly for work, between his office base in Bromsgrove, his home in the North East, and across the country to our various regional and local offices when necessary.
Sexual orientation in the workplace
Andy identifies most strongly with the sexual orientation diversity group within Core Assets and FCA;
“I came out after I’d started work at FCA, and being open and comfortable about my preference has significantly increased my confidence in the workplace. It has also allowed me to build strong working friendships with colleagues and their partners by feeling comfortable to introduce my partner at events.
“I have experienced absolutely no organisational drawbacks to being openly gay in the workplace. In fact I really don’t think it’s ever been an issue. I can honestly say that the Core Assets workplace and staff team are very supportive and encouraging and you will be regarded the same whether you’re out or not and access the same opportunities.”
