All of our foster carers are different and each brings a unique set of strengths, skills and experience to the role.
Fostering with a disability
Fostering can be demanding. So, like every potential foster carer, you’ll need to have a medical check before you begin your journey. Our carers are our biggest priority and we wouldn’t want you to take on any tasks that could put your own health at risk.
However, everyone’s different and we consider all of our applicants on an individual basis. So, as long as you’re able to go on the school run and carry out everyday activities, you should still be able to foster with us.
Will I still get my benefits?
When you foster with us, you’ll still receive Disability Living Allowance and all your usual benefits. To find out more about this and other financial issues, please visit our Benefits and Tax page.
