Ruth Receives Recognition For Long Service
December 19, 2007
A Solihull woman who has worked with thousands of foster children for over 12 years has received a long service award in recognition of her huge contribution to fostering and Foster Care Associates (FCA).
Ruth Hubble from Shirley received her award from the UK’s leading independent fostering agency, FCA. Having been the first social worker employed by the organisation, Ruth was instrumental in helping to set up the business, initially working from home.
Ruth is the team manager for FCA Midland region, responsible for the recruitment, assessment and approval of foster carers. During her employment with FCA she has been responsible for developing and implementing strategies to meet the needs of looked after children and young people who have been placed in care with FCA.
“Working with FCA has been a wonderful experience and I am thrilled to receive this level of recognition. Over the years I have been fortunate to help grow the organisation from a small Midlands-based operation to what is today the largest independent fostering agency in the UK,” said Ruth.
“My work really is a way of life for me and I’m proud to be part of a team of professionals which truly places the needs of foster children and foster carers at the centre of what it does. This is what gives me the greatest satisfaction and motivation to continue working for FCA.”
FCA was established 13 years ago. Since then the organisation has built a reputation for providing quality care in a family setting for over 2000 foster children who live with FCA’s foster families, throughout the UK. Now with 80 offices in operation, FCA is continually seeking to recruit new carers who have the determination and understanding to take up the challenging role of a foster carer.
