Foundation Fostering Placements

Foundation Fostering Placements are offered to those children with less complex needs, who remain within their own Local Authority or within 20 miles of the Authority boundary.

Foundation Fostering Placements are suitable for children/young people who have no obvious challenging behaviour, are placed local to home and are attending school. It is expected that the child’s education, health and therapeutic needs will be met by LA/CAMHS staff.

These placements will benefit from the fact that staff and trained carers all operate within the FCA Team Parenting ethos. All children/young people will be invited to FCA’s social and participation activities.

Fostering Foundation Placements are banded by age and include:

• Matching, risk assessment, a placement agreement meeting and frequent SW contact  
• Support to carers to attend training and support groups 
• Involvement of the child/young person in FCA social activities and participation events 
• Identification of a suitable school
